About Jeff Liu Lab
About Me
I'm Jeff — I've been in education for five years. I started as a TA in college, then did one-on-one tutoring after graduating, went back to teach at a school, and even started my own tutoring center helping students prepare for AP exams. These five years taught me one thing: traditional education takes way too many detours.
So many courses make simple things incredibly complicated. Students spend enormous amounts of time lost and frustrated, instead of actually understanding and creating. I've been there — looking back, many concepts could have been learned in a tenth of the time with a different approach.
Why This Site
I want to do one thing: make AI learning more direct, more fun, and more efficient.
Not the kind of course where you watch three hours of video and still don't know what's going on. Not dumping a pile of papers in front of you and saying 'figure it out.' What I want to do is: distill the core knowledge, pair it with interactive components where you can tweak parameters and see results, and tie theory together with real projects — from papers to code, from formulas to visualizations, all in one clear thread.
All foundation knowledge is completely free, and tutorial videos are also free — only interactive courseware and source code require payment.
Why Charge
Honestly, I considered making everything free. But reality is: servers cost money, developing interactive courseware takes time, and maintaining content is an ongoing investment. Without revenue, this can't be sustained long-term.
What really sealed the deal was another reason: the internet is full of resellers. Courseware that took real effort to create gets ripped, resold, and uploaded to file-sharing sites within days. The damage to creators is enormous — it's not just the financial loss, but the drain on creative motivation. So I chose to put interactive courseware and source code behind a paywall. It protects the content and makes this whole thing sustainable.
But I want the price to be something students can afford. A single project costs about the same as a Big Mac combo meal — buying a project is like buying me lunch. I know cost of living varies widely around the world, and I can't accommodate everyone, but I believe this pricing is manageable for most students.
All tutorial videos remain free — you can absolutely follow along with the video explanations, use AI tools to write the code yourself, and let AI help you build the project skeleton. AI Wiki is also completely free and continuously updated. Knowledge itself shouldn't have a paywall.
What is Jeff Liu Lab
AI Wiki — A free AI knowledge base covering deep learning, reinforcement learning, NLP, computer vision, robotics, and more. Not an encyclopedic listing, but systematic notes organized along a learning path.
From foundational theory to hands-on projects, covering RL, robot control, autonomous driving, LLM applications, and more. Every project includes interactive components, source code, and Colab Notebooks. One-time purchase, lifetime access.
Lab — My ongoing research explorations, such as AI-driven virtual world simulation. Not teaching content, but open experimental notes.
Future Directions
- -Continuous Project Updates — Each course number represents not just a completed courseware, but a living guide that keeps evolving. Content follows the latest developments in the field. Buy once, benefit continuously.
- -Continuous Interactive Updates — Making AI + education truly change people's learning curves, with interactive visualization components that make abstract concepts tangible.
- -Cloud Training Environment — Connecting cloud training workflows so you can run models right in the browser, get familiar with real cloud training, and never be put off by local environment setup again.
- -Robot Hardware Solutions — Introducing more affordable DIY robot solutions to lower the barrier for Sim-to-Real deployment.
- -AI Assistant — Planning to integrate AI tutoring that provides course-specific Q&A while you learn. Currently on hold due to high API costs — will launch when a better solution is available.
If you believe learning should be more efficient and more fun, welcome aboard
